What Is Actually Free
What exactly is free in the design service?
Three things: the consultation, the concept sketches and the CAD preview. You see the piece take shape before any money changes hands — viewing the design and the conversation that shapes it cost nothing.
When does the development fee apply?
When you approve the CAD and we start sample making. The development fee runs $200 to $800 per design and credits against production orders over $2,000. Mold costs are separate at $50 to $300 one-time — the molds belong to you — and the sample fee of $50 to $150 also credits against the production order.
How long does the free design stage take?
A clear reference photo is the biggest shortcut, and timing is confirmed at the brief. The first sketch typically comes back within days, then the CAD preview. Once you approve, first samples take 14 to 18 days after material and tooling are confirmed.

The desk accepts rough input — a napkin sketch, a phone photo, a paragraph about the customer you are designing for. The founder reviews proportion first, because most references fail on proportion, not on style. CAD previews show the piece from the angles you will actually judge: profile, stone placement, findings, closure. Revision rounds are agreed before work starts, so the preview loop is predictable and the free stage ends only when you approve development.
