How thick should gold plating on brass be?
It depends on the retail position. Flash plating suits promotional lines, 0.5–1.0 micron is the standard everyday range, 1.5–2.5 micron suits premium pieces, and gold over 925 silver is quoted as a separate vermeil route. Every tier sits on the same 4-layer base-seal system, and the tier is confirmed with the quote.
Does gold plated brass tarnish?
Plated brass can change over time with sweat, water, perfume and friction.
